The Hurstingstone Singers are a new ensemble of around 12 voices. We formed at the end of 2007 under the Directorship of Paul Parsons to give performances on an intimate scale of sacred and secular choral music, mainly of the renaissance and early baroque. We take our name from the ancient Saxon Hundred that incorporated much of modern Huntingdon, Ramsey and St Ives, where most of us live.
Do I need to be able to sing?
Well yes, singing is what it is all about but a voice that blends well with our small group is more important than a brilliant solo voice.
Do I have to be able to sight read music?
Many of our members are good sight readers. Those of us who don’t sight read so well make up for it by working on the music at home between rehearsals.
What Voices are you looking for?
We are currently looking for Altos, Tenors & Basses. If any Sopranos are interested, please still contact us in case we have any places available in the future.
